TPK Talk for October 5
Many awesome videos this week, as well as a killer kickstarter and a challenge! Which I have accepted. See you on Monday and for the next thirty days straight with the 30 Days of Gamemastering!
I love blogging challenges. The 30 days of D&D blogging challenge just wrapped up and I missed the boat on it, but Kat at Triple Crit came up with 30 Days of Gamemastering. I’m game for that, so starting Monday, there’ll be a post from me every day for 30 days on those topics. If you’re doing the 30 days let us know in the comments because I’d love to read it!
Neil and Becca of Geek & Sundry Vlogs uncover some LGBT imagery in Theros, the new set of Magic: the Gathering, and discuss the position of LGBT life in tabletop gaming in general. It is awesome, though I don’t think a world that accepts people of all sexualities is “Utopian”. We’re just mired in institutional history, I think.
Shut up and take my money
Reaper Miniatures is having another Kickstarter. “Oh,” they said coyly “We only want to raise $30,000 to expand our line again…” Yeah it’s up over a million bucks, with a ton of great rewards. Given how happy I was with the results of their first one, I’ve already kicked it and I’m planning to pick up some addons.
John Arcadian at Gnome Stew has some neat ideas on using Prezi in your campaign. I’d never thought of it before, and I’m a sucker for ways to repurpose things to further fantasy gaming fun. Now I just have to figure out how to use Prezi…
Shadows over awesome
New Tabletop this week, where Wil Wheaton, Mike and Jerry of Penny-Arcade , and Tara Strong (the voice of every cartoon you’ve ever loved) play Shadows over Camelot, one of those games I’ve heard about and have never played. One of them is a traitor, all of them are over the top dramatic.
