TPK is blog by and for GMs. We can game better, and here we’re committed to challenging ourselves to do that. By focusing on the theory and philosophy of roleplaying games, we’ll outline how to help your players create interesting characters, how to build vibrant settings and how to cultivate an open and inclusive climate at your gaming table. We believe that people are improved by gaming, and that a solid session of D&D or your rpg of choice can do a lot of good. Join us every Monday and Thursday for posts about philosophy, worldbuilding, storytelling, history, and GMing. Contact us by email or join our TPK talk on Twitter with your tips and advice. We’d love to hear from you.

Jim Tigwell

“You will permit me my little jokes.”

Jim Tigwell is a blogger and communications professional, as well as musician, writer, charity organizer, and occasional magician. He cut his teeth on Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and Darksword Adventures twenty years ago, and had a terrible Larping habit for a while. Now he livestreams a 3.5 D&D game here every two weeks, as well as running a D&D Next game on the side and playing Borderlands 2 for children’s hospitals. You can find more of his deviant ramblings on his website, or contact him directly over Twitter.

Ryan Walsh

The plant earned my ire.

“I hate you all.”

Ryan Walsh is a student of classical studies, currently Master’s, soon to be PhD, focusing on history and a blogger here at TPK. He has only been gaming for a few years and began with a D&D 3.5 game GM’d by Jim. He now runs a 4th ed Essentials game biweekly and dedicates his time trying to come up with ridicule proof NPC names. So far he has not succeeded. Find him on twitter for more sad attempts.
